Quentin Defense US Military Edition billet lowers
«

I ordered a Quentin Defense US Army Edition billet lower a few weeks ago and finally got it in at Sawtac. They hadn't scaled up production so I had to wait for a batch to come back from anodizing. Then they did some custom engraving for me. It turned out real nice. I haven't decided on an upper at this time and haven't even put in the Daniel Defense LPK I have set aside.
These aren't cheap at $160 but I've always wanted to get something special in a lower, so why not get one with a US Army rollmark and your somewhat unusual name as the manufacturer! (My middle name is Quentin, also, I lived in Gilbert, AZ at one time. But not affiliated with Quentin Defense in any way.)
Here are links to the US Army edition, and QD has lowers for the other branches of our military. Those links will follow and pictures of my lower.

Also, I ordered a S&W 5906 LE trade-in 9mm DA/SA pistol from CDNN. It's a third generation in stainless steel. I've always wanted a S&W 59 and the 5906 is the best one they made. Starting the new year out right!

This is a link showing what to expect out of the box and the features. It's the Chatterbox version but otherwise the same as the others.

Might as well drop in pics of the 5906 that came in to Sawtooth Tactical the same day...

AR10ER, I don't think the Coast Guard edition is available yet but should be soon. You might contact QD to see what the timeframe is.

The S&W 59x is a very nice acquisition, been thinking seriously about getting one myself.
At least the magazines would be less expensive and more available than ones for my 39-2.
Extra bonus being the 59 mags working in my Kel Tec P11.
But I want a 1911 first, so it will have to wait.
(The curved backstrap of the 39 fits my hand better than the flat/straight of the 59.)
Shady.

Shady, yes the 5906 is a good deal for around $300. CDNN only ships one 15rd mag with the pistol and sells new and used factory mags but have been out of them for a while. Seems like the price was $35 new and $20 used. I picked up a couple new Mec-Gar 17rd mags for $24 ea. since they have a good rep. Got a nickel and a blue finish so I can tell them apart, and from the factory stainless (in case one has issues).
I don't know how long the 5906 will be available, some places like Wideners and Bud's have sold out. CDNN keeps saying "last ones" so I finally gave in and bought one. They also have the smaller and lighter alloy framed 6906 but I wanted a big ol' chunk of old school steel!
