Rechambering 308 to 30-06
« on: February 05, 2012, 11:09:18 AM »
Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows what the going rate is for having a rifle barrel reamed from .308 Winchester to 30-06 Springfield?
The rifle in question is on VZ24 that was sporterized by someone and it is rather well done. Still, I don't shoot or reload .308 Winchester and have no intention of doing so and would prefer it in 30-06 which will fit in the action.

125.00 in my shop, need your 06 round to match chamber the bbl to.
Does the action, mag box, follower support the longer round ?

Yes it does.
I think about it but that's more than I was thinking.
Maybe I will keep looking for another rifle then.

Well you could do it for less with a dremel and a drill bit..... but you might blow yourself up....

True, but I value my Dremel too much to make it try and go through Czech pre-war steel.
