Interesting that they said "the plan is for it to be operated from inside a vehicle." It seems plain the technology will be incorporated into the existing street camera network. It would be a simple matter to have computers watching for telltale signs of guns, flagging hits and then alerting the cops.
Of course, smart people will figure out masking and camouflage techniques. A whole new niche for holster makers may develop.
