Problems with Kestrel 4500NV w/Bluetooth

Just an FYI for any of you Kestrel 4500NV w/Bluetooth owners.

My Kestrel 4500NV w/Bluetooth freezes and the control buttons have no effect on the operation until the battery door is opened and closed, a hard reset. After the battery door is opened and closed the unit functions normally for a while, but will freeze again or not turn on after it has off for more than a week or so.

I just got off the phone with Nielsen Kellerman Tech Support and they have a software fix for this issue.
Anyone with similar issues should contact them for an RA number.

Other than this minor issue I’m very pleased it has always given me accurate enough info to get lead on target.

Is your's the version with Atrag?

I have the 4500 w/Atrag, non-bluetooth.

Mine is the non-Atrag Bluetooth version and the Bluetooth seem to be the issue.
I think they are going to send me the Atrag Bluetooth version to tryout, If they do I’ll make it available to anyone that want to take a look at it.

The Atrag version is great if you don't already have a handheld/pda and wind meter. All features in one unit.

I have not had any issues with my 4500NV with Bluetooth.  It is a little slow connecting to my Android phone, but once it does, it is nice.  I use the Shooter app by Sean Kennedy and it grabs the environmentals slick as a whistle thru Bluetooth.
