Reloading Gizmos - LED light, handles, etc...
« on: January 17, 2012, 11:11:49 AM »
I found this web site and thought it had some cool ideas... I really like the little LED light and I might have to give that a try. He also has some handles that have a longer angle to them so you don't have to go as low and some other stuff as well.

I found this LED light at Harbor Freight that fits the hole in the Dillon 550 tool heads perfect.  Problem is that the light is a POS and doesn't work all the time.  :(
I'm trying to build or find something similar that shines light down from the top so you can see in the cases.  Maybe a LED light that's on a flexible neck ?

Personally I just wear a headlamp while reloading.  Makes it easy to see into 9mm cases on my 650 and I get light wherever I point my head.

Well I'm a sucker for little gizmo's like this so I just ordered his dual LED light system has a smaller light for the roof, as he calls it, and the the longer one for the press, looks pretty cool, we'll see how it goes.

I could make it for about 1/3 the price, but terminating the strips and then getting a PS and putting the ends on makes it worth it to just order it.

Just got my lights tonight when I got home. Haven't had a chance to mount them up yet, but these little buggers are BRIGHT!!!!!

He has them on a riged metal piece and then velco... once I peeled the metal strap off it is extremely flexible and I can mount it on the curve on my 550. I think a little rubber cement or hot glue and these are a GTG.

I'll post up some pice tomorrow... since I'm not shooting, I guess I'll work on the loading bench.

Good find.  I'm gonna have to try one or two of these.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice, for I am a hunter,
And I must have my freedom.

+1 for Reuseum

I call it the 'surplus store for nerds'.  I joined up with some of the kids there that are building 3D printers, so I can get my foot in the door to learn CNC.  My 3D printer (Reprap) is built and almost printing, so I'm looking forward to making some 'cheap plastic crap DIY gadgets' for the reloading bench and such.  Hopefully, a CNC mini-lathe & mill is in the near future...  Stayed-tuned  :-D
