The subject line kinda says it all.  Can happen to anyone, especially when drinking and playing with guns.  No matter who you are!  My heart goes out to friends and family of this soldier.
I DON'T RECALL READING ANYTHING IN 2A THAT EVEN SOMEWHAT RESEMBLES THE GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS FOR SPORTING OR HUNTING PURPOSES!  that's just a bonus!

Damn, what a shame. A needless death.

Why the hell would anyone ever put a gun to their head? Drunk or not, that should strike the gun handler as a distinctly asinine idea.

My condolences to all those affected. Hopefully at least one person who reads or hears about the story will recall it while considering a poorly conceived action and decide not to do it.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy sights and thy trigger, they comfort me.

Thank goodness I'm too crazy to go insane

Who says this is an accident?? Sorry, but a navy seal accidentally putting a gun to his head and pulling the trigger just doesn't seem to be very feasible.  The guy obviously had a fair share of training with firearms and even if he was super drunk what are chances of him finding a gun he "thinks" is unloaded, putting it to his head to test it and boom.   It sounds like he was lonely and disturbed and wanted someone else to witness his suicide.  This is suicide all the way..

I don't exactly know how putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger is a way to impress a chick..  Unless the chick was some kind of masochist or had a death fetish.  But hey, isn't that what 6 round chambered revolvers are for??    It said he was showing her guns and decided to put one to his head, "believing it was unloaded." Gee, unlucky for him, the very gun he decided to put to his head and pull the trigger, just happened to be the one he forgot to unload.   Yeah, um.. Sure, its feasible, just not very feasible.. LOL

Sorry, but something about this story doesn't seem right to me.  I still don't think this was an accident.
