Ambush Tactical had bulk 223 bullets.

+1 for Ambush, he had a good price for bulk .223, if I only needed 1k to load up, they are not unreasonable at all.

And if you don't know it, he stocks some Dillon reloading stuff as well!!!

Don't quote me but I think Ambush Tactical had 1000 55gr for not that much more like $90/1000 or so, might have been even cheaper and he had them in stock... call and ask them...

He's down on Chinden by the fairgrounds.

How many are you looking for?
What type are you looking for? Plinking - Self defense - other?
What grain wt are you looking for?
Do you have a brand preference?

I know a guy with a ton of .223 stuff that could most likely help you out if you could give me a bit more info.

Well to be honest, I don't know all of the details. My buddy is coming up with his AR ( I don't have anything that shoots .223s) and he wants to get into reloading and try it out with his .223s.

I do know that it will be just for plinking and he would like it to be as close to factory target practice ammo as possible (I think that is 55gr, but I could be off) I am assuming that he is going to want between 500 and 1,000.

He will be here mid next week, I will get a hold of him and get more details.

Thanks for all the helpful replies, this seems to be a great forum!

If I were loading for a standard 1-9”/8” twist 16” barreled off the shelf AR then I would stick with the 55-62 Gr bullets. I also prefer name brand jacketed bullets over the bulk copper-wash bullets for anything better than pop can accuracy.
Check with the local guys for some Hornady FMJ-BT W/C 55GR bullets, they have always worked well for me.
If you run into trouble finding some shoot me a PM and I’m sure I could dig up a couple for you.
