Cabela's no longer carrying Federal Small Pistol primers?
« on: December 29, 2011, 06:06:54 PM »
Who knows how reliable the employee was, but I was told last week Cabela's will no longer carry Federal SPP. The sales clerk was doing the inquiry via their computer system, and he basically said "Odd, we carry large pistol, small magnum pistol, rifle....but no small pistol primers from Federal and we have no plan to order any more."

The other 3 employees stood there with a "hmm, that's odd" look.

Is this just bad info being passed on to me or does anyone else know about this?

sounds really odd, maybe he was bsing you cause he didnt really know.

fwiw ive more or less switched (still have half a brick) to srp for my pistol loads. had to rework the loads to make sure they were safe and such but they work well. ive heard they are to thick/hard for some pistols but my taurus and xd and my brothers glock all run them fine. if anyone tries this use at your own risk. makes buying primers easier and i dont have to worry about them getting mixed up for some reason or another.

Sportsman's had 1 brick of Federal SPP for $32.99 last night. Cabela's still had no stock. Maybe in the new year.
