Saturday March 3, 2012 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Gem County Rod and Gun Club  (map)
Class one: 8:00am- 12:00pm
Class two: 1:00pm-5:00pm

This class is for the person who is new to firearms and wants to learn basic pistol marksmanship. This class consist of a review of criminal and civil responsibilities with the primary emphasis on gun handling and marksmanship fundamentals such as; Grip, stance, sight picture, sight alignment, breathing, trigger control, and follow through. Students will also learn how to draw, reload and clear malfunctions.

Student Requirements: Pistol, 250 rounds of ammunition, holster, 3 magazines, magazine holders, eye and ear protection.
Cost: $75.00

Students will become familiarized with the AR-15 / M-4 rifle and will learn the basic gun-handling skills that are necessary to safely operate and maintain this weapon system.Students will also learn about nomenclature, disassembly / reassembly, mechanical operation, care & cleaning, preventive maintenance, zeroing iron sights, shooting positions and much more.
Cost: $125.00
Student Requirements: Semi-auto rifle with tactical sling, 300 rounds of ammunition, 3 magazines, eye and ear protection

This course reviews the fundamentals covered in the Basic Pistol Course, and adds more sophisticated manipulation and shooting techniques, which include speed shooting, strong and weak hand only shooting, long distance pistol marksmanship, one handed malfunction clearances, shooting on the move, shooting at moving targets. Each student should have a good basic understanding of his or her pistol before attending.
Student Requirments: Pistol, 500 rounds of ammunition, holster, 3 magazines, magazine holders, eye and ear protection, concealment vest or shirt.
Cost: $125.00
