America is at an awkward stage, it's too late to work within the system, and to early to shoot the bastards.

A little beyond the "protect and serve" criteria, I'd say.  Now, in all fairness, I've known a few 62yo's who were no slouch and could put down a helluva good thump to someone, but this seems to arrive somewhere in the sick and morbid realm.  This is getting carried away >:(  and is happening more often.
I DON'T RECALL READING ANYTHING IN 2A THAT EVEN SOMEWHAT RESEMBLES THE GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS FOR SPORTING OR HUNTING PURPOSES!  that's just a bonus!

I don't see anyone posting outraged comments about how many police are killed in the line of duty every day.  Just sayin...

Conan's Same Sex Wedding - News Media Controlled

And of course we know if the media tells us it happened that way then it must be true!

I am inclined to agree with glockgirl. That's why I don't watch the news anymore. Even fox is controlled. Then people always post well snopes says this. Snopes is no different.

Hey, I think this is going off topic.
No one is not saddened when a police officer is killed in the line of duty.

However, from the video the OP put up, it seems this is a case of outright torture by the police we entrust our lives to.
Do we hold the police to a higher standard? Heck yes we do.
Is there a lot of pressure on them to do the right thing and remain calm while people act like asses? Yes, an unjustly amount of pressure.

A great amount of power is held by the police, and that scares most free thinking people.
It is very easy to be corrupted by being submerged with the filth that makes up the criminal class.
Just look at most of our politicians. It does not take long for most politicians to be corrupted in short order.

This is an obvious case of torture, abuse of power, and murder by the police.
The fault also lies with the DA for not prosecuting the offending officers.

Also, it is a police officer that came forth with eyewitness accounts.

I dont think its off topic.  Glockgirl brought up a good point.  How much of the news report was left out?  The news only reports one side of the story.  This person who came forward might have an axe to grind with the department.  You are only seeing one side of the story.  Thats all anyone ever gets to see from the media.  That is the point she was trying to make.  If its true, then yes it is tragic and a travesty.  If it is not true, just as great a travesty for false reporting.

First off this thread is not about police officers killed in the line of duty, and just because it isn't doesn't mean we are not outraged by it.

Second, you can spin a story any which way from Sunday, but after watching the video, here is what I would call the facts:

1. Man is restrained by police
2. Man is tied to chair in Jail
3. Man is pepper sprayed in jail while restrained
4. Man is repeatable pepper sprayed over time, while restrained, while in jail
5. Man dies as a result of being pepper sprayed, while restrained, while in jail

Tell me, how in God's name, the scenario of a man restrained, in jail, would justify, repeated pepper spraying by police?

If this was a terrorist, captured on the battlefield and being pumped for information about a nuclear bomb, with no rights as an American citizen, would be one thing.

But this was an AMERICAN CITIZEN, in an AMERICAN JAIL, KILLED BY AMERICAN POLICE!!!!

How in Gods name can you spin that any other way? Our constitution is supposed to protect us from this!

The picture they show of him made me think it was something Saddam Hussein's regime would have done to someone . How as a HUMAN BEING let alone a LEO could you do something like that and think it was the right thing to do . That is sickening .
