Drill and Tap a Ruger 22/45
« on: December 08, 2011, 06:43:08 PM »
So things are falling into place so that I can make what I dub the "Squirrel Feeder 5000," the ultimate in vermin extermination.  It consists of a Ruger 22/45, a Burris Fastfire 2, a Gemtech Outback II D and a TLR3.  One issue though.  It comes in two different flavors: one has both rails and no sights while the other have sights but no rails but is drilled and tapped for an optic rail.

Question is: anyone local that would be able to drill and tap the lower part of the rail for a lower rail for the 22/45 that has the sights.  I like and feel more comfortable with having sights on the gun instead of having a gun without sights until I get an optic.

Thanks in advance.

I won a red dot this summer called an OKO. It had a co-witness notch and post buikt in. Incase the battery died. I know thats not what your asking.... just not sure I would drill and tap a dustcover for a dedicated light.
They call me "Double J"

Jaggy...Ill have to look into that sight but again, I'd rarher have a pistol with sights versus having to -have- to purchase an optic just to shoot it.  And others have had theirs drilled and tapped before, just didn't know who locally could do it.

And yes pops.  I knew you could do it.  Just checking for others as well.  Let the smaller shops maybe get a bite since you already have the lion's share of biz!  :D
