I'm in North Dakota right now....
living out of my Suburban....nights are down below zero...
the right equipment is , but also the right mindset is very nessary.
naked.....hahahah yeah give you 10 minutes to get a fire going or your going down.
Days and nights below 20 degrees ....living in Boise was a luxury!!!
And winter hasn't really started here yet.
start with a good expedition military bag...something rated down to -10 degrees...
clothing better be real good and tough...which means more weight. In Montana it was normal for me and the kids to be taking care of animals and it was 20 below zero.. Clothing we had in Boise wasn't enough.
layers of clothing and weight. Get a strong durable bike....your will stress the heack out of it carrying all your survival gear.
Your bike won't be one of these ultralight weekend mountain bikes with thin tires with the whole thing built to be untra light.
But then I prefer a horse and pack mules.
Here, I have what I need to walk back to Montana...560 miles by foot...going to take a while.
Going to need a wheel borrow
