Surefire G2Z

Item being reviewed: Surefire G2Z
Description of item: The G2Z was my first "real" flashlight.  The size and candlepower were awesome.  However, it wasn't long before I replace the standard lamp with the 120 lumen lamp.  Much better light but it gets hot and the batteries don't last long.

I've used it for daily (not every day) carry and have used it for a couple of night shoots.  I've have some LED flashlights and decided that I just didn't like the heat and the yellow light.  I was going to upgrade the lap to Surefire's new LED replacement.  However, I've found a replacement in the Novatac Tactical.  I'll still keep the G2Z for backup use but it's no longer my go to light.
Description of review tests: Daily use and tactical courses during night shoots using both pistol and rifle.
Pros: Relatively light weight and sturdy construction.
Cons: Heat buildup and yellow light.  No additional settings (like strobe or dim)
Best Uses: Occasion short blasts of light.  The red filter was nice.
Duration Used: 2-3 years
Where purchased:Sportsman's Warehouse, Meridian
Cost: $65 or so.
Rating: 3
