Item being reviewed: RRA .458 SOCOM AR-15 Upper
Description of item: This upper looks like almost any old 16" upper. It looks like a heavy barrel but when you pick it up you can tell it's not. My came with a flat top receiver and an A2 type flash hider. I only have about 20 pieces of brass and have shot about 60 rounds through it. You must be a reloader for this caliber since loaded ammo is both hard to find and pretty expensive (starts out at about $2/round. I have shot 350gr Berry's plated, 405gr Remington FP, and some bad ass hard cast 405gr bullets.
Initial recoil was pretty impressive and I bruised myself pretty good. It was probably the blood thinners but it's not for wienies. I toned down the load and it's much more manageable. If you are thinking about a big bore AR-15 this should be on your short list.
Description of review tests: Just impressions from the indoor range at Impact Guns.Pros: Kick lets you know this isn't a regular Ar-15, energy is awesome
Cons:Kick lets you know this isn't a regular Ar-15, need to reload, brass is hard to get, barrel threads are not 5/8x24
Best Uses: Short range (under 200 yards) target destruction.
Duration Used: I've had this upper for a few months but only have 20 or so pieces of brass. I'm waiting on Starline for 500.
