Jeff is a Gemtech dealer, you could ask he might have an Outback in stock, if not he can order them.

htg universal is hard to beat since you can use them on 223 as well.  lil more but only one stamp.  they will not handle rapid fire 223 fwiw and yes i own one.  silencerco sparrow is really tough to beat

you have to look at specific models, but gemtech has a better fit & finish.

don't forget Tacsol

I can vouch for the Cascade Ti (100% Titanium)  being totally kickass full auto rated

Is "user servicable" or the ability to disassemble a should/must have feature?

Impact is hosting a Gemtech & PWS day, this Saturday from 10 till 5.
Come down and shoot a Gemtech, and decide for yourself.

made in Idaho are:

GemTech
Tactical Solutions
HTG
Tactical Innovations

each can has its own 'tone'
some are quieter than others but not by much
It is the tone that most are hearing

Some poeple want to clean their rimfire cans others don't.
That is a personal preference

Can you disassemble the HTG ? If you shoot much .22LR through it Your gonna need to be able to clean the baffles . If so the HTG should be a good deal for someone who owns a .22 and an AR ;)

This is just my $0.02, but I speak from first hand experience...
Our Department recently picked up some HTG cans for our Swat guys, I have shot them and been around them during several incidents.  Several of our department rifles that have the HTG can on them have had weapon failures and damaged parts.  I have run weapons with the Gem-Tech cans and they have run flawlessly.  The Gem-Techs are also quieter and have a way better fit and finish.  Comparing the two, there is no comparison.  The slightly increased price for the Gem-Tech is well worth every bit of it.  I have also spoken to several other people who have had weapon failures with the HTG's.  I have never experienced or heard of a problem with the Gem-Techs, plus their customer service is top notch (thanks Joey!).

Gem-Tech is the only can I would consider for any application.

Didn't G Vais and HTG split the sheets and he took his "Epsilon baffles"patent with him?

hessmanica:  i must ask how old are the HTG cans?  i.e. before or after george sold the business.    if before he sold december 2009 i am calling b.s.    if after, i have no idea.  i can personally attest to the eureka and aris cans george built my friends and i that they have better than 15k rounds each thru them and most of it was/is fullauto. which is a lot more than most depts. shoot in 5yrs per gun. no issues at all.  as far as the new company i have none of their products and do not know how they hold up.  are you affiliated with gemtech?  or do you work for the city of caldwell?

as far as the universal 22 suppressor.  it is stainless so out comes the vinegar and peroxide.  shot a lot of fullauto 22 thru it.   again i did wreck one that george did replace  because i did a few fullauto mag dumps out of a 10" upper.  he told me not to but i was curious.  the universal is best for slow fire 223 etc.  i.e. bolt guns.

i modified this post due to incorrect date.  2009 not 2010

JMACK

yes george sold out.  no, he did not take the baffle design with him.  but New HTG did decide to change the design and the early redesign sucked.  i am not sure if they went back to the original or not.  since HTG departed with the orig. design i have not kept up with what they are up to.  not the cans can not be easily taken apart.   i do know there have been several major manufactures that have taken parts of his design and incorporated them.  i saw the cut apart cans first hand

So is George back making cans on his own again?

Gemtech Outback II is $325.

I don't sell the others.

I can get a Gem State can but don't know the prices.  It would be cheaper than a Gemtech.

I'm a fan of Gemtech and I have one of George Vais's cans for a Glock 17 & 19 that is also very effective and problem free. I also have a Gem State Arms integrally suppressed 10/22 and a Challenger that I'm very happy with. GSA is a one man operation and Roy Cagnacci, the proprietor, usually has a table or two at the Boise Gun Shows.
His website is http://gemstatearms.com/
