Storing is a good idea, for the short term. Meaning a year or two. True long prepping requires the ability to generate your own food after the storage begins to shrink. ie: gardens that can reseed, cattle, chickens and pork. Never hurts to understand how to grow and grind wheat, make butter, cheese, ect. Anyway, that's my take and that's what I'm striving to achieve, and making good progress too.
Funny how all the "prepping" we are striving for, learning canning, farm management, animal health and breeding, scratch baking, home medical remedies, and so on were all just normal everyday life a hundred years ago, and all of history before that.
I still want the kids to work on some 10-22's with you.
