Topic: Does anyone have a TAT and die for a .223 AR-15 I may borrow?

Just got a Saiga in .223, and I need to thread the business end.
Does anyone have a die and thread alignment tool I can borrow?

Most of the muzzle threading I have seen is done via a single point cutter in a lathe . Using a cutting die to thread a barrel is generally bad juju since you have no way of making sure it is running true or square to the bore . This can lead to some serious accuracy and safety issues depending on what you thread on the end of your rifle .

I was going to use a TAT (thread alignment tool) to keep the die center.
I just want to avoid the $60+ for the die.

I am open to an AR-15 thread.

If I am wrong in my assumption that the TAT is not enough, let me know.

Popsgunner (on BoiseShooters) has a great machinist that does this sort of work so I have heard. I don't know about the alignment tool but he may. I also have had a brake shoot off the end of an AK. That taught me to avoid putting things on the end of my barrel without proper alignment!
