btw those are marked xm855 which is steel tipped. for those that dont know, they will mess up plate targets
Steel Tip makes for good plinking ammo.. I think it functions better in my 1:7 twist barrel of my AR then the XM193, based on the bullet weight. I'm not a ballistic expert, but with all other factors being equal in the Federal ammo, would you prefer to shoot 55gr XM193 or 62gr XM855 for plinking in an AR with 1:7 twist rate? I have always kept my 193 for storage and use the 855 as the plinker. I was thinking the heavier is more optimize for the tighter twist rate. I could be wrong, but I heard some issues with shooting lighter weight bullets out of shorter twist barrels like the LMT. I heard the 55gr XM193 ammo is more optimized for rifles with barrel twists that are 1:9 or higher. For zombies, I like Hornady 72gr HP rounds.. Are these not good enough?? I can always upgrade to .50 cal BMG, in zombie scenarios.. You know in the movies, people always find a spare one with a cache of ammo laying around
who will blow up their 223 carbine first with this stuff?
Ok, I'll shamelessly plug Sheepdog ammo-- our agency shoots tons of it, more accurately pallets upon pallets of it, for several years, and have NEVER had any issues. They go bang every time and punch holes as close as the rifle will allow. Operator headspace is always the issue if there are any problems, such as grouping. Good stuff, we are lucky to have them close. Even if it would cost a little more, the benefits by far outweigh the negatives. And your money is staying not only in the US, it's staying in the valley! Disclaimer: No, Travis did not pay me, I don't get favors, all I do is shoot a bunch of his ammo. Here's your chance to deny China-mart the chance to take some of our money overseas.
