Just got back from the store and peaked down the Peanut Butter aisle just to see what prices were like . Jif in the 40 oz. jar was over 8 bucks .

Kind of wishing my Wife hadn't donated all that peanut butter I bought for .25 cents a jar to the food pantry .

Thank God we are not a Peanut Butter family (two allergic and two just dont like it) so we are okay on this one.

sure you might be, but what will this mean for lower income families that survive on peanut butter and jelly? Its never good when the basics inflate.

The price seems to be constant at Costco. $8 for two 48 ounce jars even after they were out last week due to the panic.

Many food prices are going up and there will be some increase in all dairy products and beef. The cost of hay being 5x what it was last year, is hurting the dairies and ranchers. Hay around here is double last year, but it is 5x last year in Texas and many other parts of the country are between 2x and 5x. I am lucky that my wife likes to coupon, so we have a decent stockpile. When we were both unemployed, we thought it best to stockpile at least a years worth of food, in case we got really broke and could only afford the house payment.
