Plasma Cutter I can use???
« on: October 20, 2011, 09:41:46 PM »
I have 2 metal train car doors that will stop a 308 at 500 plus, I need to cut them into 4 pieces to build swinger targets out of them. I don't have a plasma cutter though. Anyone have one I can use? I'll bring the doors to wherever the cutter is located. Thanks!

depending on how thick they are (I have never seen one in person up close) it might me just as quick to use a cutting torch. On thick metal I can damn near cut quicker with a torch then with a plasma. Plust a lot more people have cutting torches.

My plasma will cut up to 1-1/8" steel and you are welcome to use it.

I thought about using  a torch but figured it would heat the edges where I cut up more than a plasma cutter and possibly soften the steel. J Mack, I should have thought to just ask you, Sent you a PM with my number.
