HELP ON LOCAL TANNERIES.
« on: October 09, 2011, 09:17:59 PM »
Does anyone know of a place here in Boise, or nearby, where a hunter can get game hides tanned professionally??  Such as deer, elk, moose, etc.?

Thank you.

I bet if you give the Tandy shop on Orchard a call they might be able to point you in the right direction.  That or maybe ask a taxidermist(?)

Call Rocky Mt Fur Company in Caldwell. They buy and sell a lot of fur both green and tanned.

Scarecrow is right about taxidermists. Most send them out to be tanned and would probably send yours out for a fee.
Some people are like Slinkies - not really good for anything, but you can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Many thanks, gentlemen.  I'll tell my friend.  He asked me last night if I knew anyone, which I didn't. He's heading to Unit 65 Friday for cow moose, and he wants to have the hide tanned if he scores.  His dad is going with him and has an elk tag and a deer tag.

Tandy's, Rock Mtn. Fur in Caldwell, or a taxidermist.

I'll relay your info.  Thanks again.
