Basic 9mm recipe?
« on: October 08, 2011, 06:53:16 PM »
I have almost gotten my reloading equipment set up, and am now ready to start accumulating a few components.  I am jsut going to buy very small quantities until I find something that I like, but even buying 1 pound of powder seems like a waste if it isn't a decent powder.

I shoot a G17 (stock barrel), and have tried USPSA, and Steel Challenge a few times.  May try IDPA next spring.  From what I have been seeing, lighter loads are better but there are issues with power factor and cycling the gun.

So, if I was going to go buy a pound of powder, some primers, and some bullets, what is the best place to start.

Thanks for any input.

I like tightgroup, any small pistol primer and plated 147's such as western, berry's or extreme.
Some people are like Slinkies - not really good for anything, but you can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
