Nampa Gun Show Oct 1-2
« on: September 22, 2011, 10:15:27 AM »
Anyone going? It's at the Nampa Rod & Gun Club Oct 1-2.  Anyone got more info?  I'll have tables, but am at a loss as to how to get there.  Isn't there some crazy construction going on that make it hard to get to?

The road to the range (railroad) is good, there is only construction on Franklin(Sugarbeet Factory) but you can still get to the range.

Is this a members-only thing, or can riff-raff like me show up?

Very cool.  My first gun show as a resident of a free state, I'm excited!

Thanks, I just might have to drag my sorry behind down to Nampa and see it. Never been to a gun show before.

I'm seeing two different addresses for the Club online- one on Bennett, one on Railroad. Two different ranges? Junkie mentioned Railroad earlier in the thread, so I'm guessing that's where the show is. But what's up with the two different addresses? (I've never been to either; I'm not a Nampa person).

It's right next to the railroad.

The Bennet rd address is our outdoor range, we also have an indoor range on Railroad. The indoor range is where the gunshow will be.

When and checked out the show today.  I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was honestly kind of a underwhelmed.  Seemed like a lot of old hunting rifles, some jewelery, and a lot of beater/cheap guns that didn't catch my eye.  I think all my years of going to the Big Reno Show have kind of spoiled me.  And it smelled rank in there.  Like a locker room with poor circulation hahaha....

I suppose I'll have to hit a bigger show in Idaho for some wow factor next time  :)

Hahaha....I saw that.  It wasn't the sewer plant, sewer plants emit a different smell too.

Went to the gun show and took a look. Was hoping to win that sweat 10/22 or get a good price on something to take home. Nothin. lol. Then went out to the steel challange. It was my first time over there and I really like the range and the steel challange looked like alot of fun to participate in. It was a good day to say the least.

I barely covered my costs at the show - it was pretty slow for most of the folks who had tables - except for the snack bar and the lady selling jalapeno bread.

I think everyone is a little short on cash, plus the show was competing with the BSU game Saturday for visitors.

All in all I had fun - the club members were nice folks, I looked the range over, and thought it was a great way to spend a weekend - ignoring housework and hanging out with gun folks.
