Rock River "Operator"
« on: September 05, 2011, 10:00:34 PM »
Item being reviewed: Rock River "Operator"
Description of item: Chambered in 5.56 (obviously) 16" barrel. Chromed lined chamber. 6 position stock with battery compartment. Free float hand guard with partial rails on bottom and sides.  Full rail on top.  RRA flip up front sight. RRA fixed rear Milspec sight.  Tri-sling loops on the front. Stainless steel bolt and carrier.  Stage 2 trigger and a pretty impressive muzzle break/ flash hider. EoTech XPS cr123a.  Valkyrie Arms two point sling.
Description of review tests: None as of yet still havent had a chance to shoot it. Just bought it last week. (work and all)
Pros: Right out of the box I have never had a rifle so damn dead on at boresight.  The iron sights were, no shit, two clicks off on both elevation and windage. Now this is just bore sight but never have I had it this close.  Crisp clean trigger break.  Only better trigger break from factory I have ever had was on a remington 700.
Cons: SO far nothing yet, but I dont think I will run into too many cons.  More testing to come.
Best Uses: Oh the fun we will have together.
Duration Used: Like I said just bought it.
Where purchased: Impact Guns.  Definitely recommend.
Cost: $1000 with out sling and sight.
Rating: 5 so far will update after I get a chance to put rounds through her.
Misc.:  I have always hand built ARs.  Good quality parts result in good quality rifle.  Never did I want to buy a pre built one as the prices were always so stinking high it wasnt worth it.  Went into Impact and couldnt beat the price so I threw caution to the wind and went for it.  Glad I did.  RRA makes one fine rifle out of the box.

So here is a picture.  So, she shoots smoother and more accurately than any rifle I have ever built.  Right out of the box after bore sighting I had to click one right on the windage.  Trigger pull is crisp and so nice.  I could easily pick the fleas off a dogs back at 100 meters with this scalpel.  Hands down the best rifle I have ever owned.  Except for my battle rifle in the Army (I will always love you you know that).  The EoTech out of the box was almost dead on too.  I was so impressed with the service I got from Impact I went back and bought another toy.  [attachment=1]
