Gonna pick up one while I'm here in Vegas this week.  Anybody tried one of these lowers?

Greetings, and God bless.

I didn't know what a plum crazy lower was so I did a search on the term.

Here's a discussion on the subject at some blog. There are others out there.

I bought one to make a lightweight carbine on but haven't gotten the upper yet.

I have played with some of these and my census on it is.....Why change something that doesn't need changed? Same as the 1911 Glock...Why???! It didn't feel comfortable to me. I was always worried about the chance of it cracking or blowing up in my face.  If you want to cut down on weight, walk around the house with it for about 4 weeks straight. Everything you do you have this rifle in your hands or shouldered. You won't notice it after awhile and weight issue solved :P or   :sarcon: Go workout more... :sarcoff: the AR platform even in full length form and with all the bells and whistles is pretty lite! just my .02

Meh, the chance of this lower "blowing up" is about one in a gazillion since it's going to be a dedicated 22lr for my 8 yr old grandson.  I'll see about getting a set of dumbells for him.

I would say that's a perfect application for the Plum Crazy lower, it should hold up fine for that upper. But I think it's way too cheap for something to be used in a serious application like a duty or self defense rifle. I know lots of people swear by them however I'd go with a quality lower for a serious gun.

I know some of the .22 uppers require a strong/heavy hammer/spring to operate reliably.
If you find you have an issue I’ll give you a complete factory trigger group for this project.

I'm not sure the PC lower will accept mil spec parts. It comes with plastic innards.

You could be right; I’m not familiar with the PC lower however I do think it’s is a cool project building an eight year old a .22 AR and broncovan is still welcome to any of the mill-spec innards I have laying around if the plastic ones don’t work.
