Where to sell jewelry locally and not get ripped off?
« on: September 04, 2011, 09:11:05 AM »
I've got some gold jewelry that I'd like to sell, some with gemstones, some without.  Does anyone have a place they trust to get a fair price for stuff like that?  What percentage do they charge for the privilege?  My guess is that a pawn shop would keep 30% and couldn't really assess the true value.  A jewelry store or gem shop would be better at determining gold weight and stone value but may keep 15% or so?

I haven't sold any jewelery, but I deal with Rose Hill Coin & Jewelery somewhat regularly.  They're a good, reputable company with friendly faces and fair prices.
