Nagant issue?
« on: September 02, 2011, 11:48:16 AM »
Okay, so i have this M44 nagant, and i am going to primarily use it for hunting this year to test it out ( shoots like a dream) <-(wet one that is). My biggest concern is the fact that i removed the bayonet from it and i'm not happy with the way it looks. I have this big ugly flange that sticks out of the side of the barrel. Would you cut it off? That is my question. It has matching numbers all throughout and i know that some don't like to mess up a historic war piece, but i just don't see the purpose of having the bayonet on unless we reach "Red Dawn" here. Any thoughts? :-\

If you like the carbine length Mosin but don't like its bayonet or its lug, try trading it for an M38 Mosin Nagant. Similar to the M44 in most respects but it doesn't have the fold out bayonet or lug.

Aren't there like a billion of these?  And don't they cost like $200?  Do you really think they will be a sought after collectible anytime soon?

The man makes an excellent point! Hard to argue with it.

I know a guy that traded an original Springfield trapdoor 45-70 Carbine for a "Super rare" Finish Nagant.  He's an asshole...  :P

That sounds like the tone of regret ::)
