Topic: Need a little black powder help.

I came upon a Hawken black powder rifle the other day. I am told it's a 58 caliber, but there are no markings anywhere on the weapon. When I measure the bore it comes to .750. Now I can assure you I know nothing about black powder firearms, but would like to make sure this is a 58 before I invest in shot for it. Can anyone lead me in the right direction. Thanks

Pops you made me rethink my measurement and someday I will learn how to use my calipers. Yes it is rifled and measures .583 more along the line of 58 caliber. You did however cause me to figure out how to post a picture. Or a least try I hope this works. [attachment=1]
