Hey guys, I've been lurking here for a little while now.

I'm originally from Oregon, then last year moved to Pennsylvania with my girlfriend. Now, due to a job offer for my girlfriend, we will be moving to Boise within a month or so.
I have been applying to positions for about a month now, but nothing has come up yet. If anyone knows of engineering positions around Boise, let me know!

I can't wait to move back west!

Forgot to mention shooting!
I've been a hunter for about 10 years, mostly deer and elk with a couple turkeys thrown in there too. I mostly like long range target shooting though. I just can't get enough of it!
I have a few hunting rifles (.22, .270, 30-06, 300 win mag), AR-15, pistols (.22, .40, and .45) and a few shotguns.

Welcome aboard Derp!
What discipline of engineering, and what level?  I work as a mech. designer for a co. that is electrical, mechanical, and structural.

I have my degree in mechanical engineering technology. The only experience I have is from a drafting position at Tyco Electronics that I have had since March.

What companies do you guys work for? So far The biggest companies I have seen over there were HP and Micron.

I work for DC Engineering in Meridian.  They might be hiring, but I haven't had much contact with the folks back at the office lately, so I'm not much help there.  I know they are really busy though.  Shoot me a PM and I'll give you a contact name to try.

If you're stuck on working for a large company, I'm not sure what other options there are besides Micron & HP in the area.  There are plenty of engineering firms in the valley though.  If you're working toward your P.E., many engineers cut their teeth at places like Musgrove Engineering, ECI, Engineering Inc., or the like.  Many of them (including DCE) farm engineering & drafting staff out to places like Micron & HP.  I'm one of those farmed-out staff for a few more days.

I just remembered:  CH2MHill and Washington Group are a couple of large engineering firms based here.  You might check them out.

Thanks for the information!
I'm checking out those companies right now. I'm not dead set on working for a large company, they just seem to be the most beneficial to an entry level engineer such as myself (graduated in June 2010).

Currently, I am not pursuing my PE. I have always looked at having a PE as a way to make more money, which is not what I got into engineering for. I would like to live comfortably, but I'm not out to get rich by any means.

Yeah, observing the PEs I know, one ends up being married to his job for not enough money.

Yeah, exactly.
I should add also, I'm not completely restricted to the Boise area. I would be willing to work in Washington and Oregon too.
