Rifle class by TG & RG
« on: July 20, 2011, 10:13:24 AM »
Raul Garcia and I will be putting on two 1/2 day rifle classes on the 18th of september. There will be a morning class and an afternoon class. Each will be about 4 hours. If you've ever been to one of our classes I think you'll agree that you get your moneys worth. Between the two of us we have lots of info and we will be hard pressed to jam everything we want to tell you into 4 hours...we'll do our best though.
Short list of items to be discussed....
Weapon setup
Speed reloads
Target transitions
Barricade work
Concealed/covered shooting positions
Malfunction clearing
Etc. Etc...
The first class will start at 08:00. Second class at 13:00.
Price $50
Limited to 8 students per class....yea.. Between the two of us you'll get lots of personal instruction.
Right now we are going to plan on doing it at Parma.
If you plan on coming bring lots of water and snacks you can eat while you are shooting. It's gonna be nine-oh.
Let me know if you have questions.
Adios

TG,
Would you say this is an introductory class or intermediate? How much prior experience should a student have?
And are you specifically gearing this to the AR platform?

Outstanding questions Zona!  It also made me think of something. If we have a diverse enough section of shooters we could do basic in the am and advanced in the pm.
It is going to be taught with ar's but other thank the loading and jam clearing methods, just about any semi-auto would work. It's what I consider to be a close range class. Nothing past 80-90yards. That's a different class:)
With that being said, we aren't going to spend ANY time zeroing weapons.  Everyone will need to know their holds from 1-100 yards before hey show up. We might spend a small portion of time on this with the beginner class.
Again, great questions. Thanks.

So here is what I have so far.  I've moved some people around a little bit.  If you can't make the class I have you listed in and need to change, let me know.  I can get four more people into the AM class and three more into the PM class.  Let me know if you are interested.  Below this is a list of stuff you'll need to bring.

September 18 AM rifle class:

Garrid C
Tommy T
Paul C

September 18 PM rifle class:
Robert K
Evans K
Keven B
Aaron B
Brian B

knee and elbow pads
sunscreen
three mags
two mag holders
200 rounds of ammo

Sounds good!  Looking forward to this.

Think we'll need a sling?

And a dumb question:  Where are we doing this, Parma?
Life is hard.  It's harder if you're stupid and can't shoot straight.

Good questions Evans.
Sling - Yes
Where - Parma...if I can get the range.  (forgot to make the request, but I think we'll be good to go.  Nothing else going on there right now)
