Yet, predictable.  This is the kind of programming one can expect as a society drifts further and further toward socialism.  It's not illegal to be gay, but the same entity that brings us political correctness about "same sex" relationships won't even touch on the fundamentals of the bill of rights, role of government, or anything within miles of the real purpose of our 2A.

Yea huh!  Well if I had it to do over again it certainly would be one of those.  Mine are 9th and 11th this year though so a little late on the home schooling. For years now however, They've been getting the rest of the story at home, and all the important stuff that's not covered in the federally constructed curriculum(which is allot). The education system is so skewed, I've been angry about it on a many occasion.  At PT meetings and conferences I find that many other parents feel the same way so it's amazing to me it's still so liberal, bias, and generally F@#ked up.  Political correctness is a movement that has succeeded at doing it's part in eroding this once great country's values and independence to the bone.

I disagree with the content and approach of the uber-liberal schools that have tried this, and would pull my kids out and raise holy hell in public and court over it if it happened to me.

HOWEVER...

This is purely a propaganda piece I won't fall for.

It's not happening in Idaho.  It's not happening in any Idaho school district.  It's not happening in any Idaho public school.  And no, I'm not blind or ignorant...as a concerned parent, I've reviewed all the sex-ed/health textbooks the State Board of Education curricular materials selection committee has approved for all Idaho public schools at the State Department of Education library to see what might be shown to my kids.  The materials in the video are not among them.

This video is a poorly-done attempt at fear-mongering to promote a pro-home-schooling agenda.

Home schooling, done correctly, provides a thorough and quality eduction for children, and sells itself.  Parents who home school don't need to justify their choice at all, period.

Therefore, there's no need for them to resort to low-ball tactics like "this is happening in super-liberal school districts in California...and we had an instance in Chicago...and Obama's safe-schools czar likes gay-education classes (they didn't tell you he is in charge of anti-bullying efforts, did they? A glaring omission that further strips away any credibility this message may have had, IMO)...so unless you home school your kids will be exposed to the fact that gays exist and they may want to try it out themselves!"  There really isn't a boogeyman in every closet, folks.

Again, I oppose what the highlighted schools and teachers were doing, but this free-thinking, straight, family values oriented father of two school-age children refuses to buy into the hyped-up propaganda message, and hopes others can see through it as well.  There are credible ways to promote home schooling, and this is not one of them.

I'm with you DCR, parents that are active in their children's education, know the teachers and know the school have nothing to fear from public education.

There are always exception's that can be found to make an example, but as a whole, the public school system works just fine, home school works great as well, it's a parents choice.

It's a messed up world.  I remember when I was in 7th grade, about 12, they gave me sex education.  In that class all we would do would talk about sex, sex, sex and people asked all the dirty X-rated questions they wanted.  This world really is going morally down the toilet..  If I ever have kids, I sure is hell won't let them attend any public school; home or private school is the way to go.    The worst was when I was about 14 they brought in a group of GLBT people and they were constantly harassing us about any of us being in denial of being GLBT.  If they want to be GLBT, that is fine, but please, I was just a 14 year old and don't need them constantly ridiculing me and everyone else, trying to force us to admit we are all lying and being pressured not to be like them.  This political correctness is crazy..

Some may hate me for saying this non-PC thing, but I think when they took the paddles out of our schools, everything went downhill.  It seems kids just don't have any respect these days.  They do what they please and don't have to answer to anybody.  Of course, now we have to corrupt their minds with all the perversion to compound all the other problems.

I CAN tell you what they are teaching in the Parma School district. (Not sex-education related)
  They are teaching the kids that the huge white clouds of "smoke" coming out of the "smoke-stacks" at the sugar factory is filthy-dirty-pollution-laden-smoke.
 In fact, it is pure water (steam returning to ambient temperature)  cleaner than what is going into the factory.  (The smell is a completely different matter.)
  Years ago, my daughter came home from school and asked me why I don't feel guilty about making everyone in the valley sick because of the "smoke". Her teacher told her it was partly my fault because I worked there.

Parents who think that the public schools are safe, and think that they have nothing to worry about as long as they are involved with their kids, are seriously mistaken.

The public schools, at least within the last 20 years, are purely left-wing propaganda mills, designed to not only indoctrinate about homosexuality, abortion, evolution, the "evils" of capitalism, etc. -- but also  manipulate the young minds against their parents values.  In many large cities, parents who try to intervene are humiliated and told to butt out, to say it politely.

My friend's daughter, who just graduated from a Boise high school, told us how they explicitly, EVERY DAY, urged them to vote for Obama (during the Fall 2008 semester), and "educate their parents!!  NO JOKE!!  Some of the teachers and other students in the class, would humiliate the students who said that they were Republicans.  Pictures of Obama adorned the hallways of the school.  McCain and Palin pictures were taken down or were obscenely debased!  Any dissent was shouted down.

This girl can barely read, can't do anything beyond the most basic math, and does nothing but spout liberal bullshit.  It has broken her parents hearts.

Home schooling or private schools are the only way to go.

Hopefully you had a talk with that teacher Bill...wow!  Vision Charter school in the Vallivue (sp?) school district is AWESOME for any parents looking for a good home for the kids...looooonngg waiting list but it is so worth it.
