12 ga homemade wax slugs

From the same guy that made the video on cut shell slugs.  He heats up paraffin wax and lead shot then pours them back into the shell, bonding the shot together.

Good find
Those look to be a good HD load maybe??
Accuracy of a slug, shot load of a shot shell up close.
I bet that shot breaks up when it hits something hard.
Be interesting to see a shot on a piece of steel like they were using, and have a clean target 5 to 10 feet behind it. I think that would show the shot load breaking up into a spray.

Mnnn?

I tried the cut shell out of my rifled shotgun, but ended up spewing the shot all over the place. I'll try it out of a smooth bore on my next outing.
I'll try this wax method in the rifled shotgun  too; maybe it will work better then the non waxed type.
I did find if you make three separate slits instead of one big one, you can load and cycle cut shells in a pump. ;D

I don't know what that guy has against Lowes buckets.  He shot a few of them in the cut shell video, and another in this one.

Interesting idea though.  Just goes to show you how versatile a shotgun can be.  It makes me think of a blunderbuss where you can drop in shot, balls, rocks, silverware, salt, whatever. :)

I think the thing I really like about both the cut and the wax slug idea is that with a pocket knife and a candle you can turn whatever shot shells you happen to have on hand into something far more lethal . I have a ton of shot shells here at the house and I am gonna turn a few into wax slugs just for shits and giggles . That way if I ever HAVE to do it I will not be in uncharted territory .
