LC9 opinions?
« on: July 07, 2011, 10:27:33 AM »
I just ordered one (from apparently the only dealer in the lewiston/clarkston/clearwater valley that doesn't have one in stock)  I liked the feel and it is getting good reviews.  anyone have one and care to share thoughts?

I put 500 flawless rounds through mine. Mostly FMJ reloads but some factory and some HP loads. After getting the trigger pull figured out I was able to really get good accuracy with it. I carry it IWB in a Milt Sparks holster designed for a sig 225 but it works. This the pocket/carry gun forr BTW, I just love it. I can plink with it just as well as use it for Carry.

I've shot a buddies a little bit.
Couldn't get over the lllooooonnnnggggg trigger pull though.
Great little gun, fun to shoot but obviously a little snappy.

Good luck, hope it works out

It does have a long trigger pull, not overly heavy and fairly smooth.  My only gripe is if there is going to be a DAO why not keep the capability of second strike??  the LCP does, and all of the DAO .380's that I have handled do.. what was the logic behind this?  I suppose if it doesn't go bang the first time they believe that you should chamber another round instead of wasting time ttrying to fire again??  small gripe but my gripe nonetheless..  other than that I like it, great little carry pistol.

Pulling the trigger a 2nd time is for the movies...

if the gun doesn't go bang when you first pull the trigger... you go into malfunction mode, and you have to train for it.

1. step... get to cover NOW!!!!!!
2. Tap, Rack and Bang... this is not the time to be looking at the gun and wondering if you put a bullet in the chamber, if the mag wasn't seated, etc...

3. if the gun still refuses to go bang... dump mag, clear gun, insert new mag, TAP RACK and BANG... if the gun still isn't working...

Hope your feet are faster than the other guy that's shooting back.

Pulling the trigger a 2nd time? waste of time, rarely have I had a round that didn't go bang the first time go bang when I tried to drop the hammer again... unless you have a bad spring, in that case. fix it.

Just my opinion, others may vary

Kinda what I was thinking, but I'd still like the second strike capability.  it leads the zombies into a false sense of security before you Tap Rack Bang.... that moment of shocked disbelief that your primary defence tool just failed you... the slight knowing grin that forms on the face of the enemy right before you put the next round through his cranial cavity locking that smug look on his face till judgement day....
