This is going to be an incredible match, right here in our back yard.

We've been shooting a bunch of man on man matches as side matches here in Nampa/Parma and around, here's a video of 2 spinners with a pistol before the crossover plate...

Here is another vid of one of our new targets that will be a side match as well.  MGM TargetsThis is going to be a lot of fun.  From the sounds of it, there will be a gun on the prize table for every third shooter too.  I'm good with that...

nice write up in the Tac Wire
http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/241072
FNH USA Takes Title Sponsor Slot at MGM Targets Grand Nationals
MGM Targets announced today that FNH USA, LLC will join MGM Targets and the Parma Rod and Gun Club to produce what is sure to become one of the premier pistol competitions in the world over the next few years. Unlike all other pistol matches, the Grand Nationals was modeled after the American Handgunner World Shoot Off pistol match that ran at the San Juan Range in Montrose, CO for approximately 15 years. The competition, which will be held July 24 - 31, 2011 in Parma, ID is unique in format. It is 100 percent man-on-man, and 100 percent steel, where two competitors shoot at the same time. One of the major components of the match is a run through all 15 stages for the fastest combined time. While the main event has a full-blown prize table, this event features a cash payback to the winners. This event will now be known as the FNH CHALLENGE, even though many of the guns FNH is donating will be on the main event prize tables.

"We are delighted and honored to be working with FNH USA on this event. Their support of the shooting sports, especially in the last few years, has been incredible. Their involvement with the 3 Gun Nation Series, and now the Grand Nationals, speaks volumes about their commitment," said Mike Gibson, Assistant Match Director.

The Parma organization can only be described as driven, in their efforts and desire to make this the single most popular annual pistol tournament in the country. The long term appeal and success enjoyed by the Handgunner and its followers proves that the format is solid. An energized management team, dedicated individuals, new stage formats and virtually unlimited target creativity and support from MGM can only ensure the long term success of the match. "Our goal for year four is to have 450 shooters signed up with a waiting list," said Match Director Aaron Goodfellow. "FNH USA's generous donations and long term commitment may very well help us reach that objective a year early."

For more information, visit www.mgmtargets-grandnats.com. A limited number of shooting slots are still available.

From my understanding ...at this point...the prize table is so JACKED up with stuff that 1 in 3 shooters will probably walk away with a gun....and even cash. It's going to be broken out by division/classification so you don't have to beat Jerry M to take a top finish.

I talked with Aaron and this is the year you wanna shoot this match especially if your in the sharpshooter/expert C/B/A class - not next year when everybody and their brother hears about the cash and prizes and show up...but this year when your odds are fantastic to walk away with prizes worth multiples of your entrance fee.

Shoot it next year too...but this is the year for us local guys to really leverage the cost of the match.

The only thing that is going to suck this year,

is that you can only win 1 gun...

from the md:
Fellow shooters, you may or may not be on the fence about shooting the inaugural MGM Targets Grand Nationals.  Allow me to help you understand what you will be missing if you skip the match.

Quality shooting and high round count.  We all go to every match we attend with the hopes to get both of these.  At the Grand Nats you will get just this.  MGM is the premier steel target manufacturer in the world and at this match you will get to shoot at all of their targets.  Some of the targets at this match you may never even have seen before.  Even if you lose every time you will still shoot close to 400 rounds in 3 days, that is Area level round count.  Chances are you won’t lose every time, so bring plenty of ammo.

If you can’t make the main match, you also have the option of shooting the FNH Challenge on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.  400 plus rounds in one day and a chance to win money back.  Side matches will also be available Monday and Tuesday night and all day Wednesday.  Again, win prizes and money.  These side matches will feature just about any gun you can think of and there will be team events as well.  Bring your rifle, .22, shotgun, etc.  You can shoot it.

Another national level match locally.  Mike Gibson can be quoted about the quality of shooting we have in our little valley, and he is right.  The level of shooting we have here will rival any place in the country.  This is another chance for you to shoot in a nationally recognized match.  We have shooters coming from all over the country to participate.  Jerry Miculek is even coming to have fun and shoot, so should you!

Maybe the most intriguing reason is the prize table.  Currently we have 27 guns and counting on the prize table.  Springfield, Glock, Sig, Winchester, all quality gun makers.  The other sponsors are also delivering some phenomenal prizes.  At minimum, shooters can expect to double their entry fee; most will do even better than that.

Did I mention this match is in Parma?  See you there
