Bullpup AK opinions
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:11:34 AM »
Was reading and looking at this AK

http://www.tactical-life.com/online/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/century-arms-ak-74-bullpup-545x39mm.jpg

Was wondering what people thought about it, it wouldn't be used for mush more than plinking and a sort of "shit-hit-the-fan" type of weapon. I would get it chambered in 7.62x39 because my wife already has a saiga chambered in that and it is plentiful and cheap.

Yeah I've seen the AK and SKS bullpups and always wanted one.  Too bad 7.62x39 ammo isn't cheap any more.. :(
I sold my SKS cuz ammo was costing as much as 5.56 ammo.  I think it would be cool to have one of these though for sure.. ;)

7.62x39 is still not too bad.

That's more than I paid for any .223 in the last year AND its corrosive....  So guess it depends on what you feel is not bad.

Well, I remeber when I had 7.62x39 delivered for less than 100 bucks, and 7.62x51 was less than 150 delivered. Ahh, for the good old days!

As to this rifle, I don't like the ejection port right by my head.

A friend has one of these and he LOVES it!  I HATED it...it was just to short for a big guy like me so it really never fit into my frame right and had to kind of hold it away from my body to see down the sights.  But he will not trade his for the world.  Just be aware you may have problems if ya are a big guy like me! ;)
"-I mean I'll kill a man in a fair fight...or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight, or if he bother's me, or if there's a woman, or I'm gettin paid - mostly when I'm getting paid...but eating people alive?!  Where does that get fun?"

Yeah I am a little guy, 5'10" 170lbs. We have a dealer down here near base that sells 7.62x39 for $250 for 1,000 rounds, it is 123grn FMJ brass cased. You have to be active military to get that price though and it s pick up only lol.
