M2, Ghost loading
« on: June 28, 2011, 06:15:28 AM »
I posted this thread in 3-gun and then thought I should put it in here instead. I know the M2 needs to be modified to ghost load, how much? Is it alot and complicated? Is it worth it?

Side note, Can the SX2 ghost load?

From what I understand, there is a notch or groove on the underside of the bolt that needs to be filled or removed to facilitate the Ghost loading.  Supposedly it's not hard to do.  I did a Google search on this a while back and found a lot of information.  Not sure about the SX2?

Is it worth it... that depends on you.  Do you really need that extra round, if so then the answer is yes, if not... well...

Sometimes with old 30 round magazines, an M2 will fail to pick up a round out of the top of the mag, where I 've never seen an M1 replicate the same issue....................... oh wait, I thought we were talking about carbines.

Never mind.

I always liked the top one better, until I had to carry one.  UGH

When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice, for I am a hunter,
And I must have my freedom.
