2011 - ANNUAL IDAHO VINTAGE BATTLE RIFLE MATCH

Maximum number of participants: 25 Call or email your request to participate. We can accept the first 25 requests.
Eligible Weapons: Any military rifle used through Korean War Era – Bolt actions or semi-auto with standard as issued sights. No telescopic sights.
M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M98 Mausers, Swedish Mausers, Springfield, Enfield, Swiss, Argentine, etc.
Weapon Categories:
Bolt Action or Semi-Auto. Participants may compete in either category (Bolt or Semi-auto) but must shoot the same category of rifle for all stages.
Ammunition: Participants must bring their own ammunition, 50 rounds minimum,( bring extra.) Standard ball ammo or equivalent reloads. Soft point ammo OK. No armor piercing ammo. No tracer or incendiary ammo.
Course of Fire: 5 Stages or locations
Stage 1. (Rifle Range Gongs)
2 Shots at each gong 150, 200, 300,400 & 500 yards – Any shooting position. (Prone or Sitting Recommended) 10 rounds in 10 minutes max.
One shooter at a time
We will shoot this stage first after registration so that another group can use the main rifle range.
Stages 2, 3, and 4 (Conex Pits – Standing offhand position ) 10 steel knock-down targets at 25 to 100 yards. Each shooter will engage and “kill” 10 targets at each stage and be timed. Extra ammo will be needed in case of misses. Elapsed time for 10 targets to be measured with stopwatch and shortest elapsed time counted as part of overall score. One shooter at a time in each stage.
Stage 5. L-1 Pit. Moving Cardboard Target
Mandatory Safety Meeting:
All participants must attend safety meeting prior to match to review the course of fire and safety procedures.
All weapons must have actions unloaded and open when not on firing line. No rounds in the rifle until the shooter is on the firing line ready to fire.
No handling of weapons except for the shooter on the firing line when it is his turn.
Hearing and Eye protection mandatory for all participants and observers.
Each shooter will have a person accompanying him on the firing line acting as Safety Observer, timer, scorer, and judge during firing.
