Did some work for a friend and ended up with a Hi Point 9mm Carbine in trade for parts instead of cash. It is the newer model with the rails on all sides and the neat little spring loaded buttstock (not sure why you would need that for a 9mm recoil). First impression was, "WOW, thats a solid gun!" big and bulky but still okay visually. Put a nice little NCStar 3x9 scope on it and a Magpul MVG (thanks Valhalla) grip. Took it out to the BLM range and was mightlly impressed! It hit where I aimed it and no recoil was felt at all, like a .22 almost. Only problem was that it kept giving me feed failures if I put more than 5 rounds in the 10 round mag. Talked with Jeff and Spiff one day and they suggested taking the mag apart and seeing if the spring was in backwards and stretching it a little to help. Well that was it all right, spring is like a single stack 1911 spring but the angle was backwards...so stretched it and flipped it and viola! Works like a champ now with 9 rounds in the mag...10 just screws it up for some reason. But for basically 75 dollars...I am really, really impressed! Sorry Jeff, think I am going to keep this one for now.

If I ever get a camera working will post some pics!
