Any interest in a Heavy Rifle shoot?
« on: June 01, 2011, 11:19:55 PM »
Anyone interested in a Heavy Rifle Shoot in July or August.
This is not the Parma Mile, but more of a .375, .408, .416, .50BMG Shoot.

Start at a Mile or so, and work out to 3,000 yards.
I have not sorted out all the details but am looking to see how many would be interested.

I’m interested,
I work most weekends but I might be able sneak out and shoot the fifty!

Sounds like fun. I don't have a heavy rifle like that to shoot, but I would come out to watch and take some pictures.
I believe in gun control. Without control you are just spraying lead downrange.

Still sorting out the details...just gauging interest now.

There are a couple of Friday' as possible dates so may not be a Saturday match.

Should have the date firmed up in a week or so.

How far should it max at? 2500yards...3000yards?

a 750gr AMAX at 2600fps needs 108moa up from a 100 yard zero at 2500yards and 150moa up from a 100yard zero for 3000yards.

The Parma Mile already goes to 2,000 yards so the Heavy shoot should get out to at least 2500
Minimum distance would be 1500 or a mile so and zero at 1500 yards.
one could get a major sloped base it scope travel is an issue
