Ruger SR9C
« on: May 28, 2011, 09:50:14 AM »
I went to Impact Guns yesterday and tried out the Ruger SR9C compact 9mm. I was very impressed with both the sights and the trigger on the SR9C, however I did not like the fit and feel of the pistol in my hand. Another pistol scratched off my wish list. The SR9C was fun to shoot and with practice I am sure I would be able to shoot it more accurately but I just don't like the feel of it. After handling both the LCP and the LC9 I was hoping that the SR9C would be big enough in my hand to feel good. Impact has the full size SR9 on the rental rack and I did like the feel of the full size better, but I already have  Ruger P85 and Browning Hi-Power for full size 9mm.
I believe in gun control. Without control you are just spraying lead downrange.

Compact guns will never feel like a full size gun, they are a compromise.

Pros - Easier to conceal, Lighter weight

Cons - More recoil, less capacity in ammo, harder to be accurate at distance

Have to figure out what you main needs wants are for a compact gun, then accept the compromise's they have and live with it.
