Reloading without Electricity
« on: June 02, 2008, 04:53:39 PM »
Just to throw something out there for you guys who are loving all the new fangled digital scales . Due to the recent Death of my Beloved RCBS Chargemaster 1500 and the follow up death of my Dads RCBS digital scale I took a long look around my reloading room and realized I didn't have a balance beam scale anymore . I have roughly 40 pounds of gunpowder , 1000's of projectiles , brass , primers , reloading manuals that Hell wouldn't have , manual powder drops , dies , a single stage and a progressive press and none of it is worth a damn without a scale .

Jumped out to Ebay and purchased a good balance beam and I am gonna follow it up with a second one just to be sure . The old saying of two is one and one is none could be pretty bad when the power goes out for good .

I have one you can borrow until your new one shows up.  ;)

I have loaded 1000s of shells without electricity. It is a tad slow, but without TV there is a lot of time for just reloading. And no tumbler just means I wipe the casings down with a cloth.

Another option to the tumbler would be to stock up on liquid case cleaners and use case brushes for the insides.

You could also get a rotary case tumbler and place your cat/dog/small rodent on a treadmill and get them to rotate it :D
