Put some turn signals on it, & register it, bout it.

You need registration, Insurance, motorcycle endorsement, turn signals visible in daylight from 100', a working horn heard from 200', rear view mirror, reflectors, taillight, brake lights visible from no less than 100 feet, headlight visible from 500', all this should give you a place to start.

When I was looking into it, everything I read indicated turn signal lights weren't a requirement on motorcycles and atvs... just the horn, brake light, head light, insurance, etc.  I searched Idaho statutes, but the only thing related to turn signals I could find was TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES CHAPTER 8 SIGNS, SIGNALS AND MARKINGS

Quote
49-809.Signals by hand and arm or signal lamps. (1) Any stop or turn signal when required shall be given either by means of hand and arm, or by signal lamps, except as otherwise provided in subsection (2) of this section.
(2)  Any motor vehicle in use on a highway shall be equipped with, and the required signal shall be given by, signal lamps when the distance from the center of the top of the steering post to the left outside limit of the body, cab or load of the vehicle exceeds twenty-four (24) inches, or when the distance from the center of the top of the steering post to the rear limit of the body or load thereof exceeds fourteen (14) feet. The latter measurements shall apply not only to any single vehicle, but also to any combination of vehicles.

If you currently are running restricted plates for OHVs, I'm guessing you need to contact ITD and register the bike as a Motorcycle.  I would think that someone at ITD's motor vehicles counter could tell you what's required for the equipment inspection.  ITD on State Street in Boise, not a DMV (or ID10T). :P

Interesting! I have a similar situation.  I'm working on completing the lights and such on a Husky WR 125.  Full frame motoX bike.  It came with an Oregon plate and registration but clearly someone at DMV F$#&ed up because this bike should'nt ever be street legal. But, since it has a plate, its transferable providing it meets the lighting requirements.  I'm not going with any turn signals either.

This bike (even though it has a plate- never installed) can't be ridden in OR because the requirements are crazy.  In OR, you must have signals, a battery which will operate the lights for a minimum of 20 minutes while not running(this bike only has a magneto), fenders, and a tall list of other shit which makes the street legal aspect impossible.

But here, you only need a headlamp, tail light, brake light (operated by either foot or hand), horn, and mirror.  As soon as I get the lighst on, this week, the dmv will do a lighting check and new plate, then were good to go.
I DON'T RECALL READING ANYTHING IN 2A THAT EVEN SOMEWHAT RESEMBLES THE GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS FOR SPORTING OR HUNTING PURPOSES!  that's just a bonus!
