Pinewood Derby Wheel Jig
« on: April 19, 2011, 04:41:30 PM »
Does anyone happen to have a pinewood derby wheel jig I could borrow?  The derby is tonight at 7:00.  I know its short notice but I figured I’d see if I could get the best edge I can.  My boy is sick of seeing the same DAD & son win each year.

What's that? You want a high speed lead injection?

Sorry but I always used a mill to cut the slot for the wheels and used a full length axle .

I do have a hot pink flower power car that has never finished worse than second ;)

I built it when I worked for a machine shop and had millions of dollars worth of equipment at my disposal . We had the alignment within .0003 inches front to back . We built custom axles , had them polished , trued the tires and it weighed exactly as heavy as it could be . We pulled a few other tricks out of the bag and then let my 5 year old daughter plaster stickers on it and decoupage it .

Ain't pinewood derby fun ... LOL
