The next Parma Practical Precision (PPP) steel match is 15 May 2011 at 9am.   If you know of anyone who is interested, past it along to them.

There will be approximately 12 stages with distances out to 800 yds.  Most shots are 550 yards and under with the average running under 400 yds.  It will involve some timed stages, some movement stages, and lots of variety.   Stages will differ greatly in skill set demands and round count.  Detachable box magazines are not required but help in some stages, so top stuffing will work.  Have your DOPE and equipment ready and be prepared to have a good time.

Equipment rule:
one (safe) rifle of 8mm or less caliber with a muzzle velocity of less than 3100 fps.

from the Parma Calendar

If you want to shoot this sign up now.
In a way this is a super match for .223, max distance is only 800 which is in bounds for a .223.
plus .223 is cheap to shoot

So, May match will be different distances?

I think max for May is 800 yards, not 100% on that though.
I'm guessing the May Match will be similar to April but not the same.

Don't know on the distances for the match but the berms at Parma are:
50m
100m
150m
200m
300m
400m
500m
710y

Alot of the shots would be on the berms simply for ease of set up.
Unless ........

Re looking at the April COf.

I think 385m should be 400m
that may be a typo, i doubt there was a midberm target.

edit-spelling

If you've got dope for the berms, you should be able to sort out any non bermed targets...

If I can make June, I think I'll shoot a .223
We'll see

I don't think these are UKD, the distances are given

I'm not in the loop on what Shane and Brad are cooking up.

I'm pretty sure the last match had targets on the berms only
Your AR or 22-250AI would be super inside 800

I can't in May, it is right after the Mile Shoot.  2 days in a row doesn't work out

Who knows what the weather will do.
If it ends up raining, the match can be shot under cover.
