Don't know if you're familiar with this or not, but this looks like a must-have for the bug-out bag or 72 hour pack or grid down situation or just plain hiking and camping. Aluminum and stainless versions, but it seems obvious to me that the only way to go is the stainless for durability. Yes, you can cook over the top of the thing while you're boiling your water. There's a bunch of these over at e-bay.
