quick question before i buy an AR.
« on: April 10, 2011, 02:52:41 PM »
looking at picking up a stag arms ar today but its from a guy from new york and has a fixed stock and a pinned and welded flash hider and he doesnt think the barrel is threaded at the end. so my question is just to make sure i am right that all i need for a collapsible stock is a new buffer tube and stock and then it should be pretty easy for a gunsmith to take off the welded fh and thread the barrel right?

in case anyone wanted to know its a stag arms rifle from a1 model sales.

the flash hider can be removed usually without damage to threads, and the rec. ext. usually are staked which can be removed. Was it from the factory ban compilent?

eta: if its not threaded, thats easy as well. I'd use ADCO. they are anal on crown work

Might want to double check what the brand it is, if I remember Model 1 Sales doesn't carry Stag stuff, so it might not be Stag.

i picked it up it is a complete stag rifle, the buffer tube is rifle length with one hole to screw the stock into and the fh is a stag compensator

i think it left the factory like that pinned and welded but it came with a pretty nice daniel defense omega 7 rail. thanks for the info guys.
