18" 870 Barrel
« on: April 07, 2011, 09:06:48 PM »
Does anyone know where I can find a decently priced 18" 870 barrel?  Wanting to change up my shotgun and the first step is shortening the barrel and then the other things will come and fall into place.  Let me know.
Due to the actions of the offender...

I don't know what decently priced means to you, but on GB you can find them new for $100.

As much as I've thought about taking a hacksaw to my original barrel, just can't bring myself to do it.  Guess I'll just have to keep checking gunbroker and Cabelas.

Note that Remington stopped making the 18", just 18.5" nowadays.  So the 18's command a premium.  Check gunbroker/auctionarms/ebang for the 18.5, and you'll likely find a better price.

I've been on the prowl myself looking for longer barrels personally.
And you know my feelings on taking a hack saw to a barrel.
You can get an 18" improved cylinder barrel for fairly inexpensive on Gunbroker, gunsamerica etc.
There may even be one or two on zidaho.
If you're patient you'll find what you're looking for.

Cheers Bro!

I'd be glad to do it for ya. I have a cutoff saw too if you are more comfortable with that!
