Topic: new 223 die crushing necks!

had to replace my sizing die last night..
setup the new lee die and the decapper pin inside collar is crushing the necks of the case!
I replaced it with my old one same issue. removed stem no issue.
Am I missing something? or is the die body bad? even my known good/working stem crushesh the necks in the new die body.

Hmmm,

Did you lube the inside of the case?

Almost sounds like the stem is the wrong size. Might be worth a trip to Cliffs with it and see what he says about it.

at first I thought I missed a breakin process on the die.
full story is I must have dropped a case and got sand or something on it.
produced 2 cases with deep gouges, removed die to inspect and it was scarred internally.
Ran out andd bought a new die. New die crushed the first neck. cleaned and lubed die and brass, crushed neck. took old "known good" stem and still crushed neck. If I extend the stem excessively it does insert into the neck correctly.
That leads me to believe the die is out of alignment internally.
haven't had a chance to research further yet.

Maybe just return the new die and save the headache?
