If you go to the Calendar this one shows up as *next* Thursdays meeting.

I haven't figured out how to do a recurring event.  Not sure it's even possible.

And yea, for the weekly thing we might do just what you suggest.  It would be a real pain in the ass to enter a new event for every week.
