American Rifleman TV did a two part show on this rifle and the guys that reproduced one. Very cool part of our history.

Cool gun, I went and looked at some of the modern day air guns in 9mm .45 and .50 cal running about $400 to $600. They have a .50 cal pushing a 185 grain round ball at a bout 650 Fps and 175 Ft-lbs of energy. They were easily punching through at 2x10 at about 30' so it could be a fun little small game gun to play with if you really like airguns.

I saw this gun when I visited the NRA museum in January.  I'd heard of it before, so I knew what it was when I saw it.  Pretty stinkin' cool - except for the 1500 pumps thing...

If you ever have a chance to drop by the museum, I recommend it!
